I backed Bard's Tale IV mostly because of nostalgia reasons. Having played the three previous games on the Commodore 64, I was happy to hear the series was coming back with some of the original team members.
The game isn't due out until next year, but inXile Entertainment has released a video showcasing some of the environments and monsters in the game. It's using the Unreal engine and will be a single player dynamic based combat RPG and which, I'm sure, will include that Bard's Tale humor that some of us grew up with.
inXile has had great success with a few of their Kickstarter games like Wasteland 2 and Tides of Numenera, so I'm expecting great things with Bard's Tale IV.
