Look, you lost, okay? XCOM lost. It doesn't matter if you beat XCOM: Enemy Unknown [GN score 9.5] or XCOM: Enemy Within. XCOM 2 [GN score 8] takes place 20 years later, and I hate to break it to you, dude, but the aliens won.
That mike make it a little more palatable when XCOM 2 launches on console next week, and the alien overlords are stomping a mudhole into the middle of your forehead. XCOM is the underdog now. On the upside of that, however, is that XCOM is calling the shots in a different way. XCOM is more agile, responding to the threats it wants to, in the order it wants to, dismantling the alien government how it wants to.
XCOM 2 lands on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One next week on September 27. (It's been on PC since February 5.)
