Call of Duty Zombies Mode has been a staple of the franchise for a number of years now. I suppose that it's been an effort to keep things fresh that the latest editions of been veering away from the tried and true Zombies formulae of the genre in general and getting a little theme-y in their implementation. They playbook of late has been, grab a time period, set up maps and weapons to reflect that era, load up some recognizable voice talent, and let loose the zombies of war.
The latest edition, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, is going full 80s mode, from the outfits, to the weapons (I noticed a Proton Pack from Ghostbusters and I think I saw an M41A Pulse Rifle from Aliens), to the archetypes (jock, nerd, valley girl, and rapper), to the voice talent (Pee Wee Herman and the Hoff), and even the enemies (Zombie Thriller Michael Jackson, Zombie Killer Clowns from Outerspace, Zombie Breakin 2, Electric Bugaloo). The story is a bit out there, 4 actors are lured to an audition where they are transformed into characters in a horror film set in a Space themed amusement park. It looks very campy, but its Zombies mode and should be fun. Aren't they always?
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare releases November 4th on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
