No PlayStation Plus account needed for No Man's Sky

Most games on the PlayStation 4 require a PlayStation Plus account in order to play with friends. Not No Man's Sky however.

Game Informer got word that you won't need to pay that yearly subscription if you want to jump into the game and perhaps meet up with your friends. In fact, the game's so big that Sony and Hello Games considers it a single player experience even though you have to be online to play and can meet up with random strangers. 

Good on the Sony for not requiring PlayStation Plus to play. If it truly is that big and your chances of meeting your friends are very slim, then removing the requirement for Plus seems like a logical decision.

No Man's Sky is due out August 9 on PC and PlayStation 4.
