As most of last generation's popular games do, the Batman: Arkham series is getting an HD remaster for the current generation of consoles, called Batman: Return to Arkham.
The original release date was July 26th, less than a month from the time of this writing, and it has now been pushed back to an as of yet unannounced date to allow the team to "deliver a polished" game. Here is what Warner Bros.' Steve Grayson said in the official forums:
After reviewing the progress of the project, the team at WB Games has decided to delay the release of Batman: Return to Arkham to give the team at Virtuos Games additional time to deliver a polished Batman Arkham game experience. We do not have a release date yet and will be sure to communicate that once we are sure the game will be ready. We know this is disappointing news, but we feel the extra time will allow the team to create the best gaming experience for our fans.
Disappointing news for many, and honestly quite surprising since the release date was just around the corner. The lack of an alternative date doesn't seem to suggest it will be a small delay, either.
