Ubisoft's rumored to have a few VR video games in the pipeline and one of them is Star Trek: Bridge Crew. It's a four-person co-op VR experience where you take control of the U.S.S. Artemis and partake in some space battles and exploration in the J.J. Abrams Star Trek universe (Please let there not be a ton of lens flares).
ABC News took part in an interview with Karl Urban, Levar Burton, and Jeri Ryan as they donned some Oculus Rifts and played as a part of a crew member onboard the spaceship.
The game will use touch controllers along with a virtual reality headset to make you feel like you're on a Star Trek starship.
I know this was one of the few types of games I've been clamoring for when VR headsets were announced and it's great to see Red Storm Entertainment coming in and giving us what sounds like a VR Artemis Spaceship Bridge Simulator. It's kind of funny how you'll be commanding a starship named Artemis in Bridge Crew and it sounds like it's going to be similar to the indie hit.
Hopefully, we'll get the full scoop tomorrow. Star Trek: Bridge Crew will be out for the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and PlayStation VR. Yes, it's coming to the PlayStation 4 as well.
