Destiny fans haven't gotten a lot of attention since The Taken King launched late last year. Sure the expansion pack was really good but online games like Destiny need a constant stream of content to keep their users engaged and happy.
Well I have good news and bad news. The good news is that Bungie revealed a new bundle of content called Rise of Iron yesterday. The bad news is that you're not going to be able to play it until September 20th.
Rise of Iron will include a bunch of new single player content, more online maps, a bump in the light level, and a bunch of new gear and strikes for players to play through. Also the fan favorite Gjallarhorn rocket launcher is getting a bit of a makeover and those that pony up $29.95 ahead of the launch of the game will get one tossed in for free. Check out the trailer below for the full scoop on the fall DLC.
This is certainly great news but the real question Destiny fans should be asking themselves is "What comes after this?" Bungie has not done a great job of laying out the long term roadmap for the franchise and that's troubling for players who have invested lots of time and money into the game. I think the franchise is awesome and has some amazing potential but it would be great for Bungie to release a high level time map of what they are thinking about going with the franchise.
