The self-proclaimed World Video Game Hall of Fame inducted another half a dozen new classics, ranging from The Oregon Trail to Grand Theft Auto III. Deadmau5 tells Rolling Stone how Castevania influenced the EDM superstar. And Megan Fox is the latest Hollywoodite to become the face of one of those freemium mobile MMO strategy games.
What are you playing this weekend?

Apparently I'm the only person on this site that doesn't plan on playing Uncharted 4 since I never played the first three. Don't yell at me for that—I didn't own a PS3. This weekend I'll be jumping into Project Cars: Game of the Year Edition which means dusting off the Logitech G920 and hooking it back up to the Xbox One to make sure I have the full experience. Beyond Project Cars, I'll devote some time to a couple of raids in Destiny as I continue my search for a Ghost Shell that isn't terrible. And I might find a little time to play Tropico 5 as it was provided free by Sony for this month's Plus membership.

Busy weekend coming up. I'm reviewing Doom, so I'll be knee deep in the dead—although I'm still playing through Alien Isolation again and still being completely terrified by it. Other than that, I'm organizing a Deep Friday (Saturday?) with a friend from out of town, and then my girlfriend and I are joining my folks for dinner as well. And this is just a PSA, but Doom is really good. I'm usually hyper-critical of games I'm really anticipating (see: No Man's Sky and Colleli's multiple near-meltdowns thereof) but Doom is just fantastic so far. At least, the campaign is. After the beta I'm skeptical about deathmatch but Snapmap might be a workable solution to Certain Affinity's Call of Halo-Doom. But the campaign...man, the pacing, the level design, the pitch-perfect FPS gameplay. I've played little more than an hour and all I want to do is get home from work and play more. Rage had me worried but hot damn Id is back.

It will be a treasure hunting weekend in the Duff household as I embark on the final (maybe) journey with Nathan Drake in Uncharted 4. I have really been looking forward to this game and it's killing me to wait until the weekend to sink my teeth into it. Doom is also sitting on my desk begging for some attention, but it may have to wait a little bit longer.

Much like everyone else, my time will be spent with Nathan Drake and his last adventure in Uncharted 4. I'm only two hours in and and I'm already impressed with everything, from the amazing visuals to not having seen a load screen yet. The rest of my weekend will hopefully be spent in the garden as it is planting season, and hopefully working on a small IoT project. I'm hoping to find a way to use a Raspberry Pi and an IR sensor to create a device that my Amazon Echo can see. I'm doing this so I can have the Echo turn on my Xbox One as part of one command when we go down to our media room. Sure it's nerdy but it will be kind of cool if I can pull it off.

I'm sewing together a longer and longer timeline in this trainwreck of an exodus in The Banner Saga 2. The artwork is still frameworthy, the music is still personal and cold, and the writing is perfectly blunt. Can't wait to be on the road again as the saga continues. Plus I'm sneaking in some Uncharted 4 time, my first Nathan Drake adventure, and it's so, so good, y'all. It's obviously a culmination of lessons learned throughout the Drake trilogy and The Last of Us. Uncharted 4 is rudely elbowing Firewatch aside for my top adventure-game slot this year.

My time will be mostly spent in the HTC Vive as I do some more Space Pirate Trainer, Tilt Brush, and some miniature golf with Cloudlands: VR Minigolf. When not in the virtual world, I'll continue to play MLB 16 and some Diablo III along with Left 4 Dead on my living room PC to test out Razer's Turret Lapboard.
