Let’s be honest, we knew that this day was coming eventually. After 10 years of service, Microsoft has announced that they are ending the production of the Xbox 360.
What does this mean? Well, effectively, Microsoft will no longer produce and ship new Xbox 360 consoles. the company still has a heavy stock of the system on hand that it will continue to sell to retailers. Any and all services for the Xbox 360 will continue, including Xbox Live, Netflix, Plex, Hulu and others, will continue to function and be serviced by the company. Both games and systems will continue to be offered at retail stores and online.
Basically, nothing will be changing for those who already own a Xbox 360. Those who might be looking to pick one up however, are now officially on the clock as the retail supply is officially limited to those that have already been produced.
