This is a just a friendly reminder to those out there who are looking forward to Gearbox’s Battleborn: the open beta test begins today on the PlayStation 4. Xbox One and PC players will get a chance to participate on their platforms beginning April 13, 2016. Regardless of which platform you are playing on, pre-load options are available beginning today.
The beta test is designed to give players a sense of the progression systems that will be used in the game. There are going to be two story-mode episodes as well as two competitive multiplayer modes. All 25 heroes are available, although many will need to be unlocked through gameplay. Regardless of which modes you play, you will get a chance to check out the game’s three different progression systems, which I explored in depth back when I previewed the game last October.
If you want to get a little bit of a headstart on the competition, you can always check out the new Bootcamp trailer for the game, shown below, which gives you a rundown of everything that you need to know in order to hit the ground running. Battleborn launches officially on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on May 3, 2016.
