There's a reason I'm excited about getting my HTC Vive in a week. After demoing it a few times at CES, I had no qualms in spending $900 on the setup. That's how incredible my experience with the product was.
If you have never used one, there's no way to know if it's really great or if it's just all talk. Some folks still think it's like 3D movies where you can get nauseous at certain scenes. (It's not) And for those that have never used a VR headset, it's hard to convey the joy and excitement of stepping into a virtual environment, being immersed in it, feeling like you are truly there.
Valve has created a video that really shows off how cool it can be. It's still nowhere near the feeling of actually using it, but it's as close as you can get for now.
As a fan of VR from using the Oculus Rift, I'm not only anxious to try out seated experiences with the HTC Vive, but all the room scale games as well. It's one of the few technologies I've been really, really excited about in recent years and I can't wait for my unit to arrive.
