Back in the day it was a pretty big deal for a game to get a live-action trailer the way a movie or tv series would. I remember being positively giddy with excitement when I saw the full-length trailers for Perfect Dark and Metroid Prime. These days, as games get bigger budgets and advertising campaigns, it's a lot more common.
The live-action trailer for Doom is about what you'd expect, although live-action is a bit of a stretch as the trailer is pretty heavy on the CGI demons. Still the power armor suit looks great in the flesh and I'm always curious where the costumes made for these commercials end up.
Personally though, I still prefer the fan-made Rocket Man trailer. Doom arrives May 13th, and its closed multiplayer beta starts today.
