Good Lord Sony, what the hell is going on over there? Daily Tech is
reporting that Sony has cut the hardware backwards compatibility out of the European PS3 and will be going with software only from here on out. This of course limits the compatibility that hardware only provides and it s a real kick in the teeth to those in Europe who have been waiting months for the system. It's certainly a cost cutting measure for Sony and you have to wonder if that change is going to be working it's way into Japanese and US systems.
