Sony Computer Entertainment – London Studio is making PlayStation VR Worlds, a frighteningly generic name that is a five-pack of virtual reality experiences for the PlayStation VR headset. This feels like the same demo concept that made The Playroom a free pack-in of games that came with the PlayStation 4 in order to demonstrate the capabilities of the PlayStation Camera.
I'm jumping to conclusions here, but it's possible Sony is subsidizing the development of PlayStation VR Worlds in order to make it a free pack-in with PlayStation VR. Again, just rampant speculation on my part. There's nothing official to back that up.
The five games are: The London Heist with its Danny Boyle UK gangsterisms, Into the Deep for the Shark Week crowd, VR Luge for some concrete Cool Runnings, Danger Ball to get your Tron on, and Scavenger's Odyssey for the boot-on-the-ground EVE: Valkyrie fans, maybe? So, I'm not saying these aren't all individually neat things, but they're probably going to be a free pack-in with PlayStation VR. These demo-disc-like experiences will be a tough sell, not matter how good they look, if they're not free. We'll see.
