Ubisoft has announced the post-release plans for Tom Clancy's The Division. Three expansions and two free updates will keep players engaged in this evolving online open world RPG. After the launch, players will be given new challenges and tasks within the main storyline and end-game through Dark Zone events, daily, and weekly missions.
Two free updates, which will add new features and some of the most wanted functionalities, will be available to all players. In April, the first incursion will be introduced and will provide a challenging end-game activity for squad play. Team's skills will be put to the test as they faced by seemingly unstoppable enemies to gain high-level equipment and weapons. This update will also add one of the most wanted features to the game: loot trading. Players in the same group will be able to trade loot that is collected during a co-op game session. The second update will be released in May and will add a new incursion in the iconic Columbus Circle as well as add new features to the Dark Zone.
There will also be three paid expansions that will be released over the course of the year. Each expansion will continue to build on The Division story and will give players new gameplay, content, and gear. These expansions will be available in the Season Pass, Gold Edition, and the Collector's Edition of the game. The expansions are:
Expansion I: Underground
Set to release this June, Expansion I: Underground will give players the chance to explore the uncharted underworld of New York City while chasing deadly enemies with up to three other Agents through an endless maze of tunnels and subways.
Expansion II: Survival
The second expansion will challenge players to survive as long as possible by gathering essential supplies in a very hostile environment.
Expansion III: Last Stand
The third expansion to The Division will release next winter. Players and their squad must prepare to defend against a relentless enemy.
