German retailer World of Games had Battlefield 5 listed on their website as, of all things, a World War I game. To be specific, a "Mehrspieler Taktik Shooter im 1. Weltkrieg," which translates to "multiplayer tactical shooter in World War I."
The listing has since been changed to simply say "multiplayer tactical shooter," so there's absolutely a chance that it was a mis-listing. That's a pretty weirdly specific thing to have gotten wrong though, right?
More reliably, it slated the release date for October 26. DICE has already said a new Battlefield would be out this year, so it's no surprise it comes out in the October-December stretch.
What do you think about a potential World War I Battlefield? I'd be first in line to see a shift away from the constant, unrelenting modern warfare, and I'm more than happy they aren't shifting to the similarly exhausted "near future." But World War I? Bump it up 20 more years and you've got a deal.
