Luke Skywalker, Lieutenant Worf, and Freddy Krueger walk into...a recording booth? And they become both in-game and out-of-game ambassadors for the granddaddy of 4X strategy, the Master of Orion reboot.
Look, I've never heard of the developers, NGD Studios, and neither have you. But with Wargaming (World of Tanks/Warplanes/Warships) adding publisher muscle, the Master of Orion reboot obviously has more money to sign on more starpower. Mark Hammill (Star Wars), Alan Tudyk (Firefly), Michael Dorn (Star Trek: The Next Generation), Kat Cressida (Haunted Mansion), Dwight Shultz (Babylon 5), and Robert Englund (A Nightmare on frickin' Elm Street) talk about what they're pouring into their characters.
About four months ago we caught our first glimpse of gameplay. The robo news anchors are stilted, but the game animations are smoooooth.
Master of Orion has no release date yet, but if the dialogue is recorded, who knows, maybe we'll see the reboot early 2017, or even as early as this holiday season. A fella can hope, right?
