Don’t let the fact that the list of games below appears to be shorter than it has been in previous weeks. This is a week that is all about quality over quantity, even if many of you haven’t heard about some of the games we’re going to highlight.
The Assassin’s Creed title should immediately jump out to everyone, its another spin-off take on a major franchise. This week sees the release of Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: Russia, which is the last chapter of the Chronicles trilogy. Set in 1918, this chapter takes players to 1918 Russia in another side-scrolling take on the Assassin’s Creed concept. Plus, now that the entire Chronicles picture has been painted, the three games will now be available in a single package at retail in addition to the digital releases it has been seeing.
Firewatch is another downloadable title that many gamers are excited about. This first-person adventure game has players assuming the role of a volunteer fire lookout after the 1988 Yellowstone fires. It sounds like a strange concept for a video game, but once you see it in action you will immediately understand the draw and charm of the game.
The big retail launches this week bring another Naruto Shippuden game to consoles, as well as the new expansion experience for one of last year’s most enjoyable games, Dying Light. However, there is one that most people probably aren’t familiar with and that is Arslan: The Warriors of Legend. This is a video game telling of the classic Japanese fantasy novel and manga, The Heroic Legend of Arslan. The game follows the manga closer than anything, mixing clips from the series with the patented Dynasty Warriors gameplay. If you are a fan of either, the source material or the Dynasty Warriors franchise, this is definitely something that you will want to check out.
