One of our first appointments every year at CES is with the folks at NYKO. This year at the show, they brought some new items in the mobile accessory world as well as recently released Xbox One and PlayStation 4 accessories. Unsurprisingly, the company didn’t have anything for Nintendo, with development most likely at a standstill I would guess until the new Wii console is announced.
The Xbox One lineup consisted of already released accessories, such as the TypePad, Chargers, Databank and Media remote. We will be taking a look at the Xbox One TypePad and Databank in the near future, so check back to see how we liked them.
For the PlayStation 4, they had the Universal Console Selector, Type Pad, Data Bank, Modular Charge Kit and Modular Charge Station on display. One bit of news we did get is that the issues with the Data Bank that plagued the first unit relating to storage size have been resolved and it will recognize larger hard drives now. They had a 6 TB drive hooked up in the suite to show that off. We will be taking a look at the PS4 Modular Charge Station and Data Bank also in the near future.
While NYKO didn’t have a lot of new console additions at the show, they certainly brought their mobile products in force. The main attraction was their new Power Shield and Q Shield lineups for Android and iPhones. These rechargeable battery cases offer different capacities and recharging methods, and are all scheduled to be released sometime in Spring 2016 with various price points. See the info on each of the units from the NYKO release below:
