Many moons ago, there was a time where Sega was one of the big dogs on the block. Granted, we're talking about the 1990s here when the Genesis was going toe-to-toe with the Super Nintendo and holding its own. Later that decade, the Dreamcast came out and showed us what the future of gaming could actually be....until the Playstation 2 came out and ended Sega's run as a console manufacturer.
Nowadays, Sega sticks to making games, usually offshoots or re-hashes of their most famous titles from the past. Today, Sega announced a collection of some of their finer moments from their golden days in the Sega 3D Essentials that will be released on the Nintendo 3DS.
There are titles we have seen before, such as Sonic the Hedgehog and Altered Beast, but a couple of personal favorites of mine are being brought back to the life in the form of Thunder Blade and Power Drift, two of the more under-appreciated titles in the Sega library.
The collection looks fine, though it's a tad underwhelming considering that Sega was treating this as Earth-shattering news. Be sure to check out Sega's website for more information.
Release date for the title will be April 26, 2016.
