The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD is on track for launch in early March, and now Nintendo has finally confirmed all of the speculation and rumors about the accompanying Wolf Link Amiibo. As suspected it will unlock an extra dungeon called the Cave of Shadows, which is basically a horde mode where you can take on waves of enemies.
Once you've dusted the Cave of Shadows you can hold any hearts you have left in reserve for emergencies. Additionally, Zelda-themed Smash Bros Amiibo give bonuses similar to the ones in Hyrule Warriors. the Link and Toon Link Amiibo will top off your arrows, while the Sheik and Zelda Amiibo will refill your hearts.
This might seem gratuitous, as Twilight Princess's only real flaw was that it was way too easy, so making it even easier with Amiibo bonuses exacerbates the problem. Thankfully, the Ganondorf Amiibo will seriously increase the damage Link takes from attacks until you end your play session.
I'm still hoping for a dedicated Hero mode to add some grunt to the quest but for now these Amiibo bonuses are a nice feature, and considering the Cave of Shadows is an optional horde mode I don't mind that it's locked behind the Wolf Link Amiibo. Look for Twilight Princess HD on March 4th.
