HTC Vive pre-orders start February 29th

After experiencing my favorite thing at CES last week, HTC has announced that pre-orders for the HTC Vive will begin on February 29th. Hey, leap year day.

The HTC Vive was one of the stars of the show for me and I do feel I prefer it over the Oculus Rift. Although I do like the Oculus Touch controllers better, the headset with the front facing camera and Chaperone system really sold it for me. Of course, the optics are pretty good as well.

No pricing has been announced yet for the Vive and I wouldn't be surprised if they held off until the pre-order date like what Oculus did. I'm expecting it to come in more than the Rift because of the inclusion of two hand held controllers and the Lighthouse systems.

Guess I better start saving up though as if I had my choice and the two major HMDs were close in pricing, the Vive would get my money right now.
