Gamestop recently caught up with Yusuke Hashimoto, collaborating director on Star Fox Zero. The Capcom and Clover veteran has some pretty fascinating insights on the working environments he's been a part of, but more importantly he sheds some light on what it's like to collaborate with Nintendo. Apparently the whole idea of a Star Fox team-up with Platinum Games arose when the team was putting the finishing touches on Bayonetta 2. Bayonetta has a Star Fox costume in that game, but Hashimoto and his team were so enthusiastic that they put an Arwing into one of the game's shooting stages.
I'm still skeptical about Star Fox Zero. I'm not too happy about it being yet another reboot and the delays make me nervous about the final quality of the game. That said, Platinum and Hashimoto's track record speaks volumes, and even their missfires are nothing if not creative.
