Clearly taking advantage of yet another blockbuster success with Fallout 4 (Gaming Nexus score: 9.8), Bethesda Softworks, located in Rockville, MD, is expanding its studio into Montreal, Canada. The studio expansion is called Bethesda Game Studios and will be lead by Yves Lachance. Lachance was recently Senior Vice President of Behaviour—the folks that partnered with Bethesda Softworks to make the mobile smash hit Fallout Shelter.
While this might lead me to believe the new Montreal studio will work on more mobile games in the vein of Fallout Shelter, their hiring page says, "Development experience on game consoles (Xbox One/PS4) a plus," with no mention of mobile platforms. It also says they want someone to "join our team that is pushing the bleeding-edge of RPG development for the PC and consoles."
There you have it. Role-playing games for PC and consoles. And with Fallout 4 knocked out of the park, The Elder Scrolls VI is next up to bat. Nothing explicitly states The Elder Scrolls VI is in the works. I'm just speculating so hard right now. So hard.
As Bethesda Game Studios goes into lockdown mode, here's looking at, I don't know, 2018 (?) when we might finally catch word of what they'll have been working on for the next several years.
