Overwatch launching spring 2016 on PC and consoles

Blizzard Entertainment has announced that upcoming team-based shooter Overwatch will be launching in spring 2016 for not only PC, but also on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game will be available in three editions including a basic digital release, a physical release called the Origins Edition, and with usual Blizzard fashion a fancy collector's edition with bronze statue and all.

The Origins Edition that I'm suspecting will interest most potential players will be the release that both PC and console owners will have access to upon launch. The contents include:

  • All of the 21 launch characters
  • Five origin skins including Blackwatch Reyes (Reaper), Strike-Commander Morrison (Soldier: 76), Overgrown Bastion, Security Chief Pharah, and Slipstream Tracer
  • Digital Overwatch-themed content for Blizzard's other games

The Overwatch Origins Edition will retail for $59.99, while the basic digital edition will cost $39.99. Those that pre-order the game will receive the bonus Noire skin for Widowmaker.
