On EA's Star Wars page today, an article was posted giving us a bit more information about Battlefront's take on the Battle of Jakku, the fifth planet in the game.
People that have been keeping up with Star Wars: The Force Awakens will know that Jakku is the desert planet seen in the trailer with the giant crashed Star Destroyer. The battle that led to his scene of destruction will take place in Battlefront on December 1st for those who preorder, and December 8th for everyone else.
The battle itself looks like it will take place around, and possibly in, the crashed Star Destroyer, with the Imperial troops on board leaving the wreckage to meet the Rebels. That sounds pretty exciting. The concept art below should give you an idea of what to expect.
Personally, I was disappointed by the realization that this battle takes place shortly after the Battle of Endor. I was hoping that the inclusion of Jakku meant that we were going to have a chance to see Battlefront tie into the time period of the upcoming sequel trilogy, but it will instead take place 29 years before The Force Awakens. Maybe for Battlefront 2, after the sequel trilogy has begun, we'll be able to see some of the new era in the game.
