Recently announced Mafia III is shifting from the northeast to the southeast, taking place in New Orleans. A new video gives a short look at what the developers are planning to do with their game's version of the iconic city, in addition to some of the historical context, particularly race relations and civil rights, that they are planning to explore.
While I think New Orleans is a great location for a crime game, a lot of Mafia fans are upset that 2K is seemingly separating from the actual mafia aspect of the series, claiming that relocating to the south and having a main character that is not, at least as far as we know, clearly related to the Mafia is going in the wrong direction.
