Daedalic is naturally busy at this year's Gamescom. Coming (sometime) in 2016 to PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One is Aer. Judging by the art style—and from its newly announced The Long Journey Home—Daedalic is going whole hog on the polygonal art style thing. By default, I'm not a big fan of the art style. It looks good in The Long Journey Home; it looks stiff and inorganic in Aer. So it could go either way.
Aer is all about 3D exploration, soaring across simple islands in the sky, exploring ancient ruins, and dealing with big, nasty underground guardians. From this singular trailer (let's be honest), the storytelling looks thin, and the environments likewise. With its allusions to points of light and dangling scarves, I'm inclined to think it's going to be an uninspired Journey. We'll keep our eye on Aer to see if anything intruiging develops.
