The SMITE Pro League has been running throughout the year and today's announcement is what every team in the dreams about. Hi-Rez has announced that the SMITE World Championship will take place from January 7-10th at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta GA. The even also got a bit of a name change as it is now officially known as the SMITE World Championship Presented By Xbox One.
The championship will feature teams from North America, Europe, Brazil, Latin America, China and for the first time, Oceania (New Zealand and Australia). These teams will be playing on PC but also on the Xbox One as well.
Hi-Rez is also changing how the prize pools are distributed. For the SWC, the prize pool will be capped at $1 million dollars. The reason for this is so they can spread money out throughout multiple tournaments that will be held throughout the year.
Xbox One teams will be competing for a prize pool of $150,000.
