Toews and Kane immortalized with Lord Stanley's Cup on NHL 16 cover

There isn't a prettier trophy to win in all of sports than Lord Stanley's favorite piece of hardware, and now the Cup itself will be joining Chicago Blackhawks forwards Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane on the cover of NHL 16.

Kane and Toews have been the centerpieces of the Blackhawks outstanding run the last six years.  Ten years ago, the Blackhawks were in the middle of one of the worst stretches of play in franchise history, but after rebuilding around these two players, they transformed into 3-time Stanley Cup Champions in six seasons.  EA Sports recognizes greatness when they see it, and now everyone will see it when they pick up their copy of the title.

The last time two athletes were on the cover of NHL?  Steve Yzerman and Scott Stevens, all the way back in the 90s, gracing the cover of NHL 96.

NHL 16 will hit the shelves on September 15, 2015.
