Daybreak Game Company announced yesterday that their free to play MMOFPS PlanetSide 2 is now available for free on PS4 in North America and Europe. While free to play, the game does have in-game purchases, but a PS Plus subscription is not required. For $14.99 per month you can purchase a membership to get a monthly Battle Cash grant; increased experience, certifications and resource gains; discounts in the marketplace; exclusive promotions; access to a monthly double experience weekend event and priority log-in queue access.
PlanetSide 2 has been developed by the same company behind EverQuest, DC Universe Online, and the upcoming H1Z1. PlanetSide 2 originally launched on the PC in 2012 and set a Guinness World Record for Most Players Online when over 1,158 players simultaneously logged in for a single battle.
