The folks at inXile Entertainment launched a Kickstarter for The Bards Tale IV on Monday and today they have released the first footage of the game and it looks really good. The footage is all from the in-game engine and it doesn't show much actual gameplay it does show the high ambitions inXile has for the game. The Bards Tale series is hallowed ground for old school gamers like me so I'm a bit excited to see a new iteration of the franchise in development.
I'm a bit wary of Kickstarters but the team at inXile did an excellent job of getting Wasteland 2 done and out the door and they were succesfull in their bid to get Torment: Tides of Numenera funded. The team has over $950,000 in pledges already which makes me think they will hit their goal of $1.25M by the end of the week.
