Well, June 2 has come and gone and XBox 360 and PlayStation 3 owners are no closer to battling it out on Mortal Kombat X than they were back on April 14. The game, which was bumped from the April release date to June 2, has apparently been bumped again. Most retailers not list the game as launching on December 31, 2015, which is usually a date used as a placeholder for games with no exact release date.
AS for the reason behind the delay, nobody knows exactly. It is worth noting that both the 360 and PS3 versions were being handled by High Voltage Software, who also handled the PC version which is already available. If you are familiar with that port of the game, then you know that it has seen more than its fair share of problems since launch, including horrible netcode and numerous technical issues. Perhaps the development team is taking their time and applying what they have learned from the PC version to making sure that the last gen versions don’t launch with the same problems. That would be the best case scenario. Hopefully we will get some sort of officially information about these two versions of the game at E3 in a few weeks.
