Take-Two Interactive admitted at their Annual Technology, Media & Telecom Conference that Evolve may have been too multiplayer focused and that the company knew it for a while.
"I think we come out of that experience reminding ourselves we have to have a strong single-player opportunity. But we knew that about Evolve," Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick said. "We think we've developed another permanent IP. But if there were something lacking, I would say it would be that it was probably a bit too multiplayer-focused, which we knew all along."
Zelnick also noted that Turtle Rock Studios' 4v1 multiplayer shooter has sold-in over 2.5 million units with 27 million game sessions played.
Evolve released in February of this year and recently received a fast-paced arena mode. For more, be sure to check out our review.
