Once again Mega May is almost upon us and this year Capcom is putting six titles from the blue bomber's Game Boy Advance outings onto the Wii U's Virtual Console. This year we'll be seeing Mega Man Battle Network 3 Blue and White, Mega Man Battle Network 4 Red Sun and Blue Moon, Mega Man Zero 2, and Mega Man & Bass. This is awesome...and slightly annoying. The awesome is that we'll be getting the next two/four (depending on how you look at it) entries in the Battle Network series and if you know me I tend to enjoy all things Mega Man, not just the classic series.
The bad is that while we are getting Mega Man & Bass, again it's the Game Boy Advance version instead of the Super Famicom version. For those who don't know, Mega Man & Bass never saw a US release for the Super Nintendo, let alone a US release period until around 2004 when it was released on the Game Boy Advance. Awesome as that was, it suffered from what a lot of console-to-handheld ports suffer from: small screen size. This means more vertical scrolling than in the console version as well as seeing less of the play-field to the point that you have less reaction time for nearby enemies. Don't get me wrong, Mega Man & Bass is still a fun game, I just prefer the Super Famicom version (or in my case, the Super NES repro cart).
Anywho, you can check out more over on the Capcom-Unity site and also vote for what the first release should be.
