If you have checked out your friend list on either console this week, it is probably easy to see that Mortal Kombat X launched this week. The new fighter, which I gave some early impressions on a few days back (full review coming very soon), is arguably this week’s biggest release. Netherrealm has been working with DC Comics to build up the game over the past couple of months with a prequel comic book series that is available both online and in comic book stores everywhere.
The series has been really good thus far and to celebrate the official launch of the game, you can check it out for free through the Comixology website. The comics have been every bit as dark and violent as the series and really give some great insight to the background of a lot of the new characters. It’s free, so what do you have to lose?
Mortal Kombat X is available now for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The Xbox 360 and PS3 versions will launch on June 2, 2015.
