According to The Daily Dot, Google owned YouTube is going to launch a game streaming service to compete with Twitch. You might remember that Google tried to acquire Twitch before Amazon got a hold of them.
YouTube's a huge name, but Twitch is the defacto streaming service for gamers. Right now, it's easy to Twitch from various devices, so Google's going to have to find a way to make it easy right off the bat.
YouTube does have live content so the infrastructure is there to present gaming as it happens to the masses. Reports are they have tasked up to 50 engineers to make sure this new venture is a success.
The question is, how many people would switch from Twitch to YouTube should this come to fruition.
