Bethesda Softworks has announced Wolfenstein: The Old Blood, a standalone prequel to one of 2014's best games, Wolfenstein: The New Order.
Wolfenstein: The Old Blood will follow the game's long running protagonist, BJ Blazkowicz during the year 1946 as the Nazis are on the brink of winning World War II. Part 1, titled Rudi Jäger and the Den of Wolves, will follow Blazkowicz as he breaks into Castle Wolfenstein in an effort to steal the coordinates to General Deathshead's compound. Part 2, The Dark Secrets of Helga Von Schabbs, continues Blazkowicz's search as he travels to Wulfburg, a city where a Nazi archaeologist is hunting for ancient artifacts that wield dark powers.
The prequel will be available on May 5 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It is being developed by MachineGames, the same minds behind Wolfenstein: The New Order and will cost USD$19.99 / £14.99 / €19.99 / AUD$39.95.
