A lot of gamers getting the New 3DS XL this Friday are probably upgrading from an older model, and more than likely they'll want to transfer all save data, licenses and digital purchases to their new model. Luckily, Nintendo has a pretty straightforward instructional video on just how to do that.
The process is a bit counter-intuitive but the directions are at least clear enough. It's pretty similar to the system transfer I performed between my Wii and Wii U, so gamers who pulled that off should have no problem with the New 3DS transfer.
