Team NINJA released the official launch trailer for the upcoming Dead Or Alive 5 Last Round. Team Ninja has taken the signature fighting style of the DOA series and created the most graphically impressive entry yet, with new characters (Honaka and the return of Raidou), new areas featuring new danger zones, and the deepest character customization yet, with over 400 open and unlock able costumes (with 31 of those being new to Last Round). Players can carry over their rosters, costumes, and save data from Dead Or Alive 5 Ultimate and previously purchased DLC will transfer from last gen to next gen consoles (PS3 to PS4, Xbox 360 to Xbox One).
The main game content can also be sampled in Dead Or Alive 5 Last Round: Core Fighters. PS4 users can download the free-to-play version over PSN and access four fighters (Ayane, Hayate, Kasumi and Ryu Hayabusa) and can unlock just about every game mode through in-gmae purchases. Xbox One users will get a trial version with the four fighters, but can upgrade to all of the features of the PS4 version and get access to the further in-game purchases for $4.99 the first two weeks of release, $9.99 after that. It's pretty convoluted, but full details are on the Team Ninja website.
DOA 5 Last Round will launch in North America on February 17 for $39.99 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and $29.99 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Next gen consoles will get both a digital and physical release, last gen will only see digital distribution. There will be a Steam version for the PC, but it has been pushed back to March 30.
