Bioshock Infinte sort of failed to scratch the steampunk itch for me, so I'm really happy to see that The Order: 1886 is shaping up to have the texture and style that I wanted. Crushing a godless rebellion appears to be no easy task, especially if the heathens are working with vicious mutant half-breeds.
You don't see many games with this distinctive Victorian style; to most people, "steakmpunk" is just brass cogs, lead pipes, top hats and petticoats. The Order 1886 at least seems to be getting the whole atmosphere right. I'm looking forward to this one, but of course it only fuels the desire for what I really want: a game faithfully based on H.G. Wells' War of the Worlds.
