Bandai Namco has recently released some new screen shots for Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin that focuses on gameplay improvements and story advancement for Dark Souls II. This free patch will be available on February 5th to everyone who owns Dark Souls II for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. The patch will include several new things including a new NPC, the Scholar of the First Sin. The Scholar will appear throughout the game to reveal a new path through the Dark Souls II universe.
The patch will also include expanded item descriptions to help expand on the lore of the Dark Souls II universe, a new item called the Agape Ring which allows souls collected from kills during online play to be absorbed by the ring instead of the player, several online matching improvements, new enemy behavior with the Imitation spell now affecting normal enemies, and entering the Covenant of Champions will now allow enemies to respawn after being defeated.

DARK SOULS II: Scholar of the First Sin will also be available through a physical retail release for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 system, and digitally for PC DirectX 9 systems on April 7, 2015. This new version of DARK SOULS II will include the enhancements described above, enriching the player??s journey through Drangleic, as well as expanded item descriptions, adjustments to online matchmaking and gameplay balancing. All three DLC missions released for DARK SOULS II will also be included with DARK SOULS II: Scholar of the First Sin
