One of the big themes that were prevalent at this past weekend’s PlayStation Experience was the huge flow of indie games headed to the Vita, PS3 and PS4 systems. One of the games that was announced as heading to Sony’s consoles that I am most excited about is Yacht Club Games’ Shovel Knight.
I’ve had my eye on the game for a while, as it has already been released for the PC, 3DS, and Wii consoles, but now it will be within my grasp on all three of the Sony systems. The game is often described as a mashup between Castlevania, Metroid and Dark Souls, mixing exploration and adventure with RPG elements. The PlayStation versions will feature the base game in all of its entirety plus a variety of new features including Twitch streaming support, Cross Save capabilities, and even new content, such as the tease in the trailer below of Kratos appearing as a possible boss.
The game is due out sometime in 2015.
