The PlayStation Network appears to be down again for users across the globe.
Word comes way of PlayStation's support Twitter account stating, "We're aware some of you are unable to connect to the PSN. Thanks for your patience as we investigate."
This latest outage comes only three days after the PSN was down for over 7 hours due to scheduled maintenance. However, it appears that this outage comes as a surprise to Sony.
Almost two months ago, the PSN was taken offline due to a distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack in which hackers attempted to overwhelm the network with artificially high traffic. Though it impacted users' ability to access the network, no personal information was taken.
Could this be a different attack on the network? We will keep you updated if the story develops any further.
