The Los Angeles Kings will win the 2015 Stanley Cup according to EA's annual season simulation.
Using NHL 15, EA has projected a repeat from the Kings as they top the Boston Bruins for their third Stanley Cup in four years. To reach the final, the Kings are predicted to knock off the Chicago Blackhawks in a rematch of last years Western Conference Finals.
Perhaps the most surprising prediction is whom the Bruins are predicted to beat in the Eastern Conference Finals: the Columbus Blue Jackets. If this result were to hold up it would be the Blue Jackets' most successful season in franchise history.
Player awards were also calculated. Not surprisingly, Pittsburgh Penguins center Sidney Crosby is projected to take home the Hart Memorial Trophy (MVP), Art Ross Trophy, the Maurice "Rocket" Richard Trophy, and the Ted Lindsay Award. Montreal Canadians goalie Carey Price is projected to take home Vezina Trophy honors as the league's top netminder.
Sorry Calgary fans, the Flames are predicted to finish last; only three spots lower than where they finished a season ago.
The simulation was based on real-life player data and artificial intelligence that included hot streaks and player injuries to make it as realistic as possible.
We reviewed NHL 15 and had mixed emotions. While its presentation was better than ever, it lacked many of the game modes that previous installments included.
