Indie platformer Thomas Was Alone will be appearing on PS4, Xbox One, and Wii U next month. A specific date has yet to be released, but Curve Digital, who is developing the game for next-gen consoles, has confirmed the game will be available for all of the consoles on the same week in November.
Thomas Was Alone is one of the most popular indie games of all time, having sold over a million copies since it's release for PC and Macs on Steam in 2012. The following year it was ported as a cross-buy for both PS3 and Vita, and later was released for Linux. Earlier this year an iOS and Android version appeared, and now the game will look to squeeze every last ounce of the processing power of the next-gen consoles to render 2 dimensional rectangles. The game is really about more than jumping blocks though, and tells a very charming story about friendship. It even won a BAFTA games award in 2013 for the narration by British comedian Danny Wallace.
The game will be available in all formats for $9.99, and customers who have already purchased it for PS3 or Vita (including those who received it as part of the Playstation Plus promotion) will be able to download for PS4 free of charge.
Curve has also released a tongue-in-cheek "documentary" style trailer for the announcement.
