Everyone was so focused on the Minecraft aspect of Microsoft’s Mojang acquisition, but I was a little more worried about one of the developer’s other projects. What about Scrolls?
I bought into the strategy / card game as soon as it was publicly available, following the same buy-before-official-release strategy that the company took with Minecraft. The game had me hooked right from the start and I couldn’t wait to see how it would evolve before it officially launched. As soon as I heard that the Microsoft deal was official, I figured that the project was as good as dead. It turns out, that isn’t the case!
The official Scrolls website recently posted some news that confirmed that the game is still moving along and in fact seeing an expanded release on mobile platforms. The game is headed to both the iOS and Android at a discounted price, in addition to the PC and MAC releases and will feature full, cross platform gameplay between all of the versions. In addition to the multi-platform gameplay, your Scrolls collection will be shared across all of the platforms as well, which means you can move between them at will.
