The big release that Nintendo fans are waiting for this week is without a doubt Hyrule Warriors. As a fan of The Legend of Zelda series and a beginner with the Warriors franchise, I was pleasantly surprised when Hyrule Warriors was first announced a while back and I've been eagerly waiting for it's release tomorrow. Of course, Nintendo wouldn't be silly enough to have an entire week go by with just one release now would they?
Over on the 3DS we have the latest game in the Yu-gi-oh series with Yu-gi-oh! ZEXAL World Duel Carnival. I actually briefly checked this out at GenCon and it wasn't all that bad. Granted I hadn't played Yu-gi-oh in quite some time, digitally or physically, but the touch controls seemed to work pretty well except for when I kept forgetting to switch to a particular phase, but that was my own fault. The game will let you play as one of twelve characters, each with their own storyline, as you battle against forty duelists using more than 5,700 cards from the trading card game.
As for eShop sales, this is your last chance to save up to 40 percent on select games with this week featuring Donkey Kong, Kirby, and some other classic characters featured in the upcoming Super Smash Bros.. Check out http://www.nintendo.com/eshop/offers for more info. You can also pick up Armillo for $4.99 for the Wii U, Swords & Soldiers for $1.99 on the Wii U, and Glory of Generals for $6.99 on the 3DS.
Finally, next month is October which seems like the perfect month for a series of Castlevania games to hit the Virtual Console. Next week will see Castlevania: Dracula X from the Super NES hit the Wii U's Virtual Console while October 9th will bring us Castlevania: Circle of the Moon from the Game Boy Advance on the Wii U. While I've only played a bit of Dracula X (which is a bit of a port of Castlevania: Rondo of Blood from the PC Engine), Circle of the Moon was, in my opinion, an excellent addition to the series. I'm hoping at some point we also see Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow on the VC.
