By now you have surely seen your fair share of ALS Ice Bucket Challenge videos. They’re all over Facebook. They’re all over Twitter. They’re everywhere. Well, over the course of the past week, they have officially hit the video game world as well.
It all started last week when developer Digital Extremes accepted the challenge and completed it within the confines of their game Warframe, the free-to-play 3rd person shooter for PC and PS4. In addition to completing the challenge, the company also donated $10,000 to the ALS Association. No Ice Bucket Challenge is complete though without calling out someone else, and in Wireframe’s case, they went straight for the big guns: Halo, Destiny, and Borderlands.
Not one to turn down a challenge, the crew at Bungie wasted no time stepping to the plate and answering the frigid-call. The developer released the following video over the weekend showing a Ghost getting doused for two reasons: answering the call for charity and to announce that Destiny is finished and has gone gold. The ice bucket came from the moon! Destiny put the challenge out to Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, The Last of Us, and George Lucas.
343 Industries also answered their challenge by actually having their development team to take the challenge. A couple of members of the studio stepped up to the plate and answered the challenge on video and called out a bunch of their personal colleagues, while Master Chief dumped buckets on their heads.
We can’t wait to see who is next from the industry to step up and accept the challenge in an entertaining manner.
