I really hope that PS4 owners were too excited about Minecraft launching on their beloved system during its estimated August 2014 window... because there is bad news to be had. Unfortunately, the game will not be making that window as it has been reported that the game has actually failed the PSN certification process for the platform.
The developer posted the bad news on Twitter yesterday:
“Sony found some issues we have to fix in their final test of #MinecraftPS4 :( We're fixing, but we need to go through the process again.”
Hopefully the failing isn’t due to anything too big and it can be rectified and resubmitted rather quickly. Fans of the series have been waiting for the next generation versions of the game for quite some time now and hopefully the wait is almost over. There is no word on whether the Xbox One version will be delayed as well, although it didn’t have a concrete release date either.
